The Meek Shall Inherit The Earth

June 20, 2012

Matt 5:5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth”. This statement made by our Master and the Mashiach Yahshua is most misunderstood.  He was speaking of the time when we would rule and reign with Him in the Millennial reign.

As man has so often done in the past we think he is talking about the present and that we will be prosperous if we will just be a floor-mat and let the world run over us. Just keep quiet and do not protest to loudly when the world denies our Creator and master Almighty Yahveh. Just be a limp wrested wimp and do not challenge any statement that anyone makes. Just be a push over for anyone’s ideology. My precious saint this concept could not possibly be any further from the truth.

I have a problem with people thinking that the image of a pastor should be some mealy mouth, limp wrested and politically correct person and not a man’s man in the least.  Now please do not misunderstand me I do not mean that a pastor should not be sensitive neither do I mean that he should have a boisterous or obnoxious manner. I am merely saying that he should not appear weak and compromising in his thoughts and mannerisms. He should have convictions and his passion for the convictions should be evident.

It really bothers me that T.V. Evangelist can make strong statements declaring certain catastrophes that came upon this nation were judgments from Almighty Yahveh and that there are further judgments coming. Then they will do a complete about face and apologize for the statement when they get resistance from their viewers. Either these statements are inspired warnings of The Almighty or not.  If they were from Yahveh then shame on you for apologizing, you should not have been so concerned about what the people thought and more concerned with what The Almighty said to you. However, if the statement was only your emotional reaction and a mere opinion you should have not spoken it out to begin with.

The truth of the matter is that Yahshua’s statement was not focused on man’s relationship with man but man’s relationship with Almighty Yahveh. I tell you the truth you can be meek and still have a fire in your belly. You can be an aggressive warrior against sin and demonic activities in this world and be a mighty defender of the truth of the gospel. Yet you can still be meek and be in submission to Almighty Yahveh our Sovereign (The Creator of all Heaven and Earth).  When Yahshua spoke about being meek He was talking about being meek and in submission to the Father completely opposite of pride, arrogance and rebellion.

Pride is one condition that man has constantly had to fight to overcome.  Pride is the opposite of submission; it is pride that keeps us from wanting to obey the commands of the Father. It is pride that causes us to be prone to and addicted to sinful behavior.  It is pride that makes us think that though we fail to obey His Torah He will compromise his Kadoshness (Holiness) and ignore our transgressions. Sin has a price and that price must be paid.

I can already hear the rebuttals now: declaring Yahshua (Jesus) has paid the price for our sins. Our sins are under the blood of Yahshua. I say “you are absolutely right Yahshua did pay for the past sins in our life and through Him we have forgiveness of sins”.  Rom 3:23-25 “being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Mashiach Yahshua, whom Almighty Yahveh set forth as propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance Almighty Yahveh had passed over the sins that were previously committed,”   Our salvation was not because of any act of righteousness that we had done but by the grace and mercy of Almighty Yahveh. However, this is not a license to continue to practice sin despite the redemptive blood of Yahshua Ha Mashiach.  To plan the sin and the repentance at the same time is rebellion and total disrespect for the Sovereignty and the grace of Almighty Yahveh.  Also, this type of behavior is an attempt to devalue the price that was paid for your sins: (the precious blood of Yahshua). Heb 10:29 “Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace”?

There is a great deal of difference in sin committed by mistake or even ignorance than one intentionally committed in willful disobedience. We are told that willful sin falls into a completely different category. Heb 10:26-28 “For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses”   This Scripture tells us about the cost of despising the Torah (commandments) of Almighty Yahveh. If you will not obey the commands of Almighty Yahveh; you then are not meek but prideful and rebellious.  Therefore, you are in danger of giving up your entitlements to the inheritance proclaimed in Matt 5:5 “Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.” The meek will submit themselves to Almighty Yahveh and obey His commands. Not only coming to Yahshua Ha Mashiach and acknowledging that He was the complete and sufficient sacrifice for our sins; But through Him we were empowered to keep Almighty Yahveh’s commands by the Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit). That means we in meekness obey His dietary commands as well as His appointed times including the Sabbath day worship. Paul tells us in Rom 6:1-4  “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Yahveh forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Yahshua Ha Mashiach were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried

with him by baptism into death: that like as Mashiach was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”  We are not to continue in sin.

Are you meek or are you arrogant?
