The Goodness and the Severity

Deut 7:6-8 NKJV  “For you are a holy people to Almighty Yahveh your Sovereign; Almighty Yahveh your Sovereign has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth. 7 Almighty Yahveh did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; 8 but because Almighty Yahveh loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, Almighty Yahveh has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.”

As we read the above Scripture, we receive much hope and much encouragement from Almighty Yahveh. The New Testament church seems to think that 1Peter 2:9 was a new declaration from Almighty Yahveh Unique to the Church. Most of the believers of Yahshua Ha Mesheach are completely unaware that it was a declaration to Israel centuries before. The Father declared this about His Israel long before the Church came along. Almighty Yahveh had made a Covenant with Abraham centuries before that through Abraham all nations would be blessed. Then when the children of Israel came out of Egypt The Father set down the terms of the Covenant referred to as the commandments. The terms of the contract are as follows: “If you will keep My commandments and follow My statues then I will bless you” sayeth Almighty Yahveh “but if you choose to disobey my commands and not walk after My statues then I will curse you. Deut 11:26-28 “Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse: 27 the blessing, if you obey the commandments of Almighty Yahveh your Sovereign which I command you today; 28 and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of Almighty Yahveh your Sovereign, but turn aside from the way which I command you today, to go after other deities which you have not known.

Teachers of this day are more concerned about the palatability of the message rather than the content. Many are more concerned about the quantity of members rather than the quality of the members. If you start brandishing a sword around in the midst of a crowd of people, somebody is going to be cut.

Now when you get cut you have one of two choices you can go to the doctor and stop the bleeding and bind up your wounds with the Balm of Gilead or you can crawl of in the ditch somewhere and die from loss of blood or the poison of infection. Obviously the wise choice is to go to the Great physician have your cuts cared for.

Our life is full of choices, some are good and some not so good but choices are like opinions everyone has them and there are consequences to both, choices and opinions. To often, there is a reluctance to teach about the consequences of bad choices. When we make bad spiritual choices there are consequences to pay.

By the mercy and goodness of Almighty Yahveh, we have been told the benefits and consequences of the choices we make. If we choose to keep His Commandments and walk in His statues, we will be blessed-by receiving eternal life. If we refuse to obey His Commandments and follow-after another deity that is no deity at all (namely self-indulgence or self worship), then we will be cursed.

Deut 30:15-16 NKJV  “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, 16 in that I command you today to love Yahveh your Sovereign, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and Yahveh your Sovereign will bless you in the land which you go to possess.” Someone will assuredly say The Sovereign you describe is an angry spiteful Sovereign and The Sovereign I serve is a Sovereign of love.

I would say to you that there is no greater love than was demonstrated by the Sovereign of the whole world who gave His own son to redeem the world from the dominion of sin. To teach the world how to overcome sin by the Lamb of Yahveh, that through the Blood of Yahshua Ha Mesheach we are cleansed from sins stains. What grace, what mercy. To continue in sin (ignoring the Commandments and statues of Almighty Yahveh is an insult to The Sovereign of all Heaven and Earth.

To insinuate that His Commandments are out of date an antique is a horrible lie and is to indicate that the Commandments were bad and not good.

Let us look at what Almighty Yahveh did He took a beggar dressed in rags hungry and poor standing on the outside looking in at all of the benefits of the Kingdom having no hope of getting in much less enjoying the benefits of the Household of faith. Then by the blood of Yahshua The Father washed you up cleansed you from your filth. He also gave you a clean suit of clothes called righteousness and adopted you to be His own son. He made a covenant with you if you will abide by the rules of the household you can live with me and have all the rights of son ship.

Now understand once again the person has been given a choice he can abide by the terms of the contract and follow (The Commandments of Almighty Yahveh) the rules of the house or he can go back to begging and wearing rags having no Fatherly relationship, but the choice is still your’s.

Deut 11: 32 And you shall be careful to observe all the statutes and judgments which I set before you today.
