That My Joy Be Fulfilled In You

September 29, 2012

John 17:11-19 NKJVNow I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are. 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 18 As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.

I want to examine this Scripture more closely and maybe understand why we do not experience the full impact of the passage. This scripture contains a prayer of Yahshua to Father Yahveh. He declares in this prayer that He has kept all that the Father has given Him. He hasn’t kept them in His own name but Yahshua declared they were kept in The Father’s name. Then Yahshua made a request of The Father “Holy Father keep through Your name those whom you have given me.”

Note in this scripture He gives a reason for His request. He has made the request that they may be one as He is with The Father. This prayer talks about being in agreement spiritually. It also talks about being in The Father’s name but ninety percent of the church does not even use or have a clue to what is His proper name.

Some will say we cannot be sure how to pronounce His Kadosh name. This is very true we cannot be absolutely sure that we have the 100% correct pronunciation of His name. However according to the Hebrew letters, Yod, Hey, Vav, Hey, we do know that it is not pronounced God or Lord. Both of these names by which He has been commonly addressed have pagan roots. If we are to be kept by His name and nobody will use His proper name there is no wonder so many are falling away from the truth. If we practice the use or substitution of the names of pagan deities rather than using the proper name this behavior will ultimately give glory to the enemies of Almighty Yahveh. This cannot be pleasing to our Heavenly Father.

Basically Yahshua said to The Father I am going to leave this world soon and come to You. I speak these things in this prayer while I am still in this world that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. Now unless I am, sadly mistaken the word “may” in the English Language indicates permission in this case required permission.

I have given them Your Word and because Your Word is in them the world hates them. I need to make myself clear, Yahshua was not talking about people hating you, He was talking about the world system. He was not giving you permission to take on a persecution complex or a judgmental attitude toward the people around you. Quite the contrary He is saying because you are kept by The Father’s Name and have His Word in you, Yahshua’s joy should be fulfilled in you regardless of circumstances.

The reason the world has hated you is because you are not of this world. You are in this world but not motivated by the world. Your motivation is the Kingdom of Almighty Yahveh and His Word that is in you. Yahshua was in the world also but was not of this world. His motivation was the will of Almighty Yahveh, His Father not the things of this world.

Yahshua prayed to The Heavenly Father sanctify them by Your truth. The word Sanctify means to separate one, we are separated from the world by the way we live, think, speak and react to circumstances. We have the word of instruction in us to separate us unto His service.

We need to let the Word of Yahveh rule our life. If Father Yahveh is our Father then we will do the work of our father. If we walk after the ways of the world (living after the fleshly desires of the world) then we are obeying our father the devil. The works of our father we will do.

We have a different set of rules that govern our behavior if we are His. It is a higher standard that we live by than those who do not know Him. If we are His we ought to walk even as He walked. 1 John 2:5-6 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of The Almighty is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him (Yahshua). 6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked. The truth is that it is so important that we walk in love and discipline our lives in submission of the flesh to the Ruach Ha Kodesh to walk and behave as He walked and behaved that His joy might be fulfilled in us.

My precious saint we have been taught far too long that the Law does not pertain to us as Christians; we have been freed from the law. If we are freed from the law then we are lawless. If we are lawless we belong to the lawless one and not Almighty Yahveh. If we are Yahshua’s we will walk as He walked and His joy will be fulfilled in us.
