Make Your Election Sure

July 14, 2009

There is so much conversation about elections in this country, and elections are a very important part of our lives; it determines who is going to govern us. As believers we ought to be even more diligent about who we elect to govern our spiritual life. “Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:10-11 NKJV). There must be no doubt of whom we have put in charge of our lives here on earth.

We cast our vote each and every day; knowing it or not. We are actively campaigning for whom we desire to govern our lives. Whom we choose is going to have a great effect on our life and our eternity.

We are living in a time of political correctness. It is not fashionable to be plain spoken and plainly state your case to designate the object of your faith. However, in so doing we without doubt give honor to the recipient of our worship.

If we will walk in the commandments and honor Almighty Yahveh, then we declare that Yahveh is sovereign over our life. We can’t make choices for anyone, other than ourselves. We can although most assuredly determine who will rule in our lives. There are too many who think they can make it through life by riding the fence and not casting their vote. What they don’t understand is that by not casting their vote they cast it for sin and iniquity. Case in point: We had a celebrity to die this past week (Michael Jackson). This man was the very image of everything perverted. All you could hear in the news is how popular he was and how many people were going to be at his funeral to honor him. Paying homage to a child molester, sexual pervert and a man ashamed of his own race. People don’t seem to understand that by giving this honor to Michael they have cast their vote to approve the evil he stood for. He was a very confused person, a fact that no one can deny. The sad fact is we know who is the author of confusion and who had control of his life. The probability that his addiction ruled his life and was probably the cause of his death.

This generation has a real deficiency and it has become a curse to this nation. It seems no matter how bad a person is when he dies he becomes a saint. Don’t speak evil of the dead. I tell you we better speak up and call wickedness what it is. This generation has cast it’s vote and it’s not a good vote.

We need to cast a vote when we watch a program that has questionable material in it by changing the channels to something appropriate. The evil culprits that try to pollute your mind are watching the ratings too. By changing the channel you are casting a vote against wickedness. By watching these inappropriate programs we are casting a vote for more of the wicked programming in the future. The reason we have so much filth on TV is people keep voting for the devils system, the worldly system.

I have a friend that says, “if you don’t vote in the election you don’t have a right to complain about the results of the election”. If you don’t cast your vote you don’t have a right to complain about the degradation of the generations. If this generation seems out of control in wickedness what hope does future generations have?  My parents clearly cast their vote for Almighty Yahveh and His righteousness and insisted that we, as children, cast our vote in the same manner by the way we behaved.

Some may declare that “I am a good person, I don’t steal, or kill anyone and I don’t try to hurt anyone. I just don’t want to push my convictions onto anyone else.” My response to that statement is that HaSatan sure is busy trying to push his agenda on all who will stand still for it.  Another declarition I hear is, “What I believe is private and really is my business alone.” My question is: what do you put your efforts into? As a human being you are going to be involved in something and what ever you are involved in you cast your vote for. Whether it is in carnality or whether it is in Covenant with Yahveh.

We either enter into Covenant with Yahveh and walk in His commands (The Torah) or we enter into covenant with the devil and live to satisfy the lusts of the flesh. We know that the Torah is spiritual and to walk after the Spirit is life; to walk after the flesh is death. We either cast our vote for Yahveh or we cast our vote for HaSatan by the way we live our lives.

Who did you vote for today?
