Strength During the Storm

March 14, 2011

Mark 4:37-41 NKJV And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He (Yahshua) was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him,” Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” 39 Then He (Yahshua) arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He (Yahshua) said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” 41 And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!” Teacher do you not care that we are perishing?

The question is one we often ask in our spirit even though we may not be bold enough to vocalize the query. Many times we struggle with our apprehensions in silence locking in our secret fears that the Master cares not that we perish or for the matter in which we are struggling to overcome while in the storm. It is very easy for us to forget that we are bought with a great price. Yahshua asked them a very pertinent question. “How is it you have no faith?  The answer to the question was given for us in the disciple’s discussion; they asked, “who can this be”?  They had no faith because they did not know who was in the boat with them.  Many times, we do not realize who is in the boat with us when we are going through the storm.  We are all subject to the storms of life.  Some are more intimidating than others.  None of these storms are pleasant to go through and all have a tendency to disturb our composure in the emotional realm.  Fear is the automatic reaction when frustration, anxieties and helplessness have taken control of our emotional reactions.  This is the exact situation that the apostles were dealing with when they woke Yahshua from His sleep.  When we are in the middle of the storm we seem to forget that we have a purpose in this life; to glorify Almighty Yahveh and to show fourth His praise to a world that has been blinded by Ha Satan.  If we will submit to His calling, we won’t necessarily be taken out of the storms but He will give us the ability to be victorious over it and come out on the other side.

I want to encourage you today and remind you that you have been given a great gift if you are walking in Covenant.  If you have submitted to Almighty Yahveh’s Torah through Yahshua Ha Mesheach to keep His Commandments. You have been given the power to overcome all the power of the enemy. Luke 10:19 NKJV “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”  There is no greater security than the promises of Almighty Yahveh through Yahshua Ha Mesheach.  Almighty Yahveh has promised to give us victory over every attempt of the world forces to destroy us and nullify our effort to Glorify and show forth the praises of our Sovereign. This is the greatest security I can imagine that we have the opportunity to overcome every obstacle that’s placed in our path and the final obstacle being death.

No matter how big the storm, our Sovereign is much bigger no matter how strong the storm our Sovereign is much stronger. He is not asleep that the storm is unnoticed, nether is He so for away that He is not noticed you struggling with ravishes of the storm. Though it looks hopeless as it did for the Disciples, I assure you that He has your life in his hands, if only you will trust Him and function as His word tells you to function. It is always so tempting to lean to our own wisdom concerning the matters of life.  Safety from the storm is in the covenant washed in the blood of Yahshua cleansed from all sin.  Trusting Almighty Yahveh to bring you through the storm is the hope of all who trust in the saving power of Almighty Yahveh Creator of all Heaven and earth.

In the name of Yahshua I command the storm peace be still.
